< Return to home   Seedling Production Here at Takuyo, we carry out so-called “full-cycle breeding” for our red sea bream production. Full-cycle breeding involves nurturing parent fish, collecting their eggs, artificially hatching the eggs and producing “seedling” fish. Seedling production currently takes place mainly between November and March each year at our Oge Factory in Uken-son, Amami Oshima Island and our Ashikebu Factory in Amami City, Amami Oshima Island. 1000 adult fish out of 2 million shipping size are carefully selected as candidates for parents. These candidate fish are then further whittled down to 200. By carrying out this selection process every year, we are able to produce superior “thoroughbred” red sea bream. © Takuyo Co., Ltd.
